UV Performance
- The shade percentage tells you how much light is blocked, not how long the net lasts.
- UV stabilisers in the yarn decide the fabric's life in the sun. Ask for the UV warranty.
- Colour affects heat and fading. Ask the supplier how each colour performs.
Seams and Fixing Methods
- Hems and seams sewn with UV-stable thread, as ordinary thread rots first.
- Cable or wire rope run through the edge pocket for tension.
- Reinforced corners and eyelets at fixing points.
- Lacing, tensioning bars or turnbuckles to pull the net tight.
Tensioning
A tight net sheds wind and lasts longer. Expect the installer to re-tension after the first weeks as the new fabric settles.
When the Frame Also Needs Work
- Rust at welds, pole bases and where the old net rubbed.
- Bent poles or arms from wind or vehicle impact.
- Loose footings that let the frame move when the net is tensioned.
